Tags, Tumblr and Time Management!

Hey folks, I know I’ve been tagged in that Actor’s Studio meme that’s going around. This week, however, I’m in a week long leadership course that is hella intense. My days (8-6) are spent in a class room teaching and learning (yes. We have to teach the modules we’re learning). And my evenings are spent studying and prepping for presentation (with a brief break here and there to clear my head). A lot of the posts coming from me this week are spitting out of my queue with a few reblogs in the evening while in prep break.

I will answer the meme but it will be after my class is complete so not until this coming weekend. I’m very sorry for the delay.

Anonymous said: You don't "own" the Pig and Whistle/Fenris Keep/Slaughtered Lamb/Filthy Animal/that one house in Ironforge. Stop trying to IC order people out of it because "everyone knows" it's your house/base/brothel/whatever. People would be more willing to work with you if you acknowledged there is no way to claim ownership over a specific set of pixels and coordinating RP events so they don't overlap is much easier than spending all your time trying to police who wants to RP in "your" spot.

Garrisons will really help with this, or so I hope. That being said, it’s not as bad Horde side as it is Alliance side.

I noticed Fenris Keep on there.  That’s out in silverpine/tirisfal, yeah?  Are there are many horde guilds that hang out in there, or just leave it to the werewolves?

-TONS- of guilds from Mg and WRA hang out there. Years ago while I was in Ravenwing, the GM insisted that we use it as our base. We stopped doing that when during one meeting THREE other guilds all showed up to use the rp space, oh and a pair of erpers.

Interestingly, we see many Alliance guilds there.

My favorite is when guilds don’t share. When there i obviously a guild event going on in that location, go elsewhere. Don’t troll.

We have used the same location for 1+ year now once a week at the same time. When others show up, we don’t care and as long as they are polite we rp. We have had cross faction dice fights, and other fun spontaneous rp as a result of being willing to share. If anything, sharing has benefited us a lot.

On WRA we had a guild for years claim the an area as their ‘IC spot’ in Undercity. They constantly harassed players IC and OOC, to the point some stopped playing their Forsaken and others ignored the entire guild. The guild later changed leadership and the new officers recognized it was an issue and were nice and talked to members who took that approach, but after years of that not happening the damage was hard to fix.

So lesson here is, work with other RP groups yo. Not doing so makes everyone think your guild is full of dicks - whether that is true or not. And once a large number of people experience you claim staking public areas, it’s hard to reverse it if you realize you are being a dick.

I think at least a dozen people use one of my night elf’s house. My forsaken Apothecary has four caves for labs that I rotate through because normally one or multiple have other people using them on various nights. My hope is garrisons will help a lot, and I’m hoping this isn’t their permanent solution to ‘player housing’ as while it’s a nice concept, it isn’t anything customizable like other games housing. I honestly want a ‘home’ for some of my characters that I can make feel like theirs. Not copy pasta garrison.

I wouldn’t even mind the garrison as player housing…if I wasn’t stuck with Orc shit.

Haaaaa yep. I still would like actual player housing. So many other mmos offer customizable layouts, walls, wall paper, texture, items etc. It varies of course from game to game, but I just like the idea of being able to make a worn down building full of lab equipment for my forsaken. Or a night night elf cottage full of flowers and nature crap for my nelf druid. I would farm and pay all the gold they wanted for it.

I would farm raids for upgrades to curtains…and new rug patterns, not even joking.

Please. Everyone knows you’d only go in to camp the chairs. ;)
